A BITE-SIZED TALE OF BRIGADIERS

As a food loving couple based in London, we find ourselves overwhelmed with choice and busy with indulgence where restaurants are concerned. It’s been months since we ate at Brigadiers and although their menu has changed, we felt obliged to share tales of our experience at this heavenly restaurant. Regular readers of our blog will be all too familiar with our enthusiasm for JKS Restaurants (see Hoppers and Gymkhana). Brigadiers at Bloomberg Arcade is certainly cut from the same cloth. A true tour de force of Indian cooking and another feather in the magnificent plumage of the JKS cap.

The venue is awash with red leather and exotic woods. Inspired by the army mess bars of India and dotted with a games lounge and private rooms for group indulgence. The luxurious décor and attentive service are befitting of the adventurous menu, which was as good, if not better than anticipated.

Standout dishes included the cheese & onion bhajias. Mr Flavour’s favourite Indian snack was further enhanced by the addition of creamy paneer. They were light, crisp and moreish. The BBQ butter chicken wings bought a rich smoky finish to a crowd-pleasing dish and the creamy sauce guaranteed a clean plate afterwards. We ordered a mixed grill sizzler for a comprehensive sample of their meaty wares. The plate came piled high with racks of lamb, tender chicken and a juicy kofte, all expertly spiced and char-grilled to perfection. The Tawa Carabinero prawn byriani married bountiful seafood with a pleasingly piquant rice, garnished with vibrant curry leaves. We were deeply satisfied.

Brigadiers

Brigadiers is another jewel in the JKS crown and will certainly be getting a return visit from The Flavours in the near future. Us Londoners are spoilt for choice when it comes to high quality Indian cooking. Brigadiers is up there with the best of the bunch.
